Pupil Services

At Mohawk Trail and Hawlemont Regional School Districts, we believe all students are capable of meeting high expectations when we cultivate a strong partnership among parents, teachers, administrators, and other members of the community. Our goal is to teach students the skills they need to help them achieve their full potential as independent and successful adults.

MTRSD SEPAC

Special Education Parent Advisory Councils are district-level, parent-driven groups that provide input into the local school district on system-level special education challenges.

For additional information, please contact Leann Loomis via email.

Services Provided

The districts provide a range of services to special needs students from preschool through high school, up to age 22. We want our students to join their peers in the least restrictive environment (LRE) possible and will include them in the general education setting to the extent they are able to participate.

Referrals

Parents, teachers, school personnel, or other agencies may refer a student for an initial educational evaluation. Our pupil services team will determine services based upon the assessment and classroom data. We will work together with the principal, teachers, parents, and the student (when appropriate) to coordinate an educational plan designed to maximize the students’ abilities as they learn and develop new skills.
